Accommodation and Travel

The conference takes place in the centre of external pageArosa at the external pageWaldhotel National

We recommend to use public transportation to get to Arosa. Information on train departures and arrivals is given by the external pageSBB online timetable.

At Chur you have to change to the Rhätische Bahn (RhB), which will bring you in 60 minutes to Arosa. There is not enough capacity on the normal trains from Chur to Arosa.

The RhB will charter an 'EXTRAZUG' (special train) leaving Chur at 12:18 on Wednesday Jan 12 and arriving in Arosa at 13:20. The train leaves at the platform 2, where all Arosa trains start. The train is labeled "QSIT - Arosa Meeting" and will come to the platform 2 right after the departure of the regular train leaving at 12:08. Please use the extra train and not the one leaving at 12:08.

There will also be an extra capacity on the train from Basel SBB (09:33) respectively from Zurich HB (10:37) to Chur (11:52), reserved under the label "QSIT - Arosa Meeting".

You have to purchase a normal ticket from your place to Arosa. You will be reimbursed a half-tax return ticket at the meeting.

The hotel is at 10 minutes walking distance from the station (external pagemap). At 13:20 there will be a small bus from the hotel at the station to transport your luggage, if necessary.

A traditional Bündner Gerstensuppe will be served in the foyer of the conference hall before the meeting starts.

If you decide to go by car, a narrow winding road will take you from Chur in 45 minutes 1320 m up to Arosa. Information about external pagetraffic and external pageroad conditions is found in the Internet. About parking, please contact the hotel.

You have to check in at the hotel reception. All participants are registered and a list of room mates will be published here. Please be aware that this list may change until the beginning of the conference.

Meals are served in the hotel, on the basis of half board arrangement, including a lunch packet on Thursday and Friday. Please let the conference organisation know if you prefer vegetarian food ()
